Frequently asked question

Nuclear energy is the energy released from the nucleus (core) of atoms, either by splitting (fission) or merging (fusion) them. It’s used to generate electricity, power submarines, and even propel spacecraft.
Electricity: 10% of global power (20% in the U.S., 19% in Russia).
Medicine: Cancer treatment (radiation therapy), sterilizing equipment.
Battery storage technology refers to systems that store electrical energy for later use using rechargeable batteries. These systems help balance supply and demand, store energy from renewable sources like solar and wind, and provide backup power during outages. Battery storage improves energy efficiency, reliability, and sustainability in homes, businesses, and power grids.
Water desalination is the process of removing salt and other impurities from seawater or brackish water to make it safe for drinking and irrigation. This is typically done using methods like reverse osmosis or distillation. Desalination provides a vital source of fresh water in arid regions or places with limited freshwater resources.
Sustainable energy is energy that is produced and used in ways that meet present needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet theirs. It comes from renewable sources like solar, wind, hydro, and geothermal, which are naturally replenished and have a low environmental impact. Sustainable energy helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions, supports energy security, and promotes long-term environmental and economic health.
Blue energy, also known as salinity gradient power, is a form of renewable energy generated from the difference in salt concentration between seawater and freshwater. This energy can be harnessed using technologies like pressure retarded osmosis (PRO) or reverse electrodialysis (RED). Blue energy is clean, sustainable, and abundant—especially at river mouths where freshwater meets the sea—offering great potential for electricity generation with minimal environmental impact.
Fertilizers are substances added to soil or crops to supply essential nutrients that plants need to grow. In agriculture, they play a critical role in increasing crop yields, improving soil fertility, and supporting global food production. Fertilizers can be organic (like compost or manure) or synthetic (chemical-based), and they typically provide nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium—key nutrients for plant development. Proper use of fertilizers helps ensure healthy crops, but overuse can lead to environmental issues like water pollution.
Hybrid energy systems combine two or more energy sources—typically renewable (like solar, wind, or hydro) with conventional sources (like diesel generators or batteries)—to provide a reliable and efficient power supply. These systems are designed to balance energy generation, reduce fuel consumption, lower emissions, and ensure continuous power, especially in remote or off-grid areas. Hybrid systems enhance energy security and make better use of renewable resources.
